About Medical Welfare Council

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Medical Welfare Council is a flagship social initiative of RCCI established to fulfill the Chamber’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and to extend healthcare support to underprivileged segments of society. The council was founded in 1983, marking the beginning of RCCI’s commitment toward community welfare and public health services.

From 1983 to 2011, the medical facility operated as a homeopathic clinic, providing alternative medical treatment to deserving patients. In 2011, the clinic was upgraded and converted into an allopathic medical facility, significantly expanding its scope of services and enabling the provision of modern healthcare treatment and diagnostics.

The Medical Welfare Council plays a vital role in supporting and funding the operations of the RCCI Free Medical Clinic. Through its financial assistance, the clinic is able to cover expenses related to medical treatment, procurement of equipment, medicines, and administrative operations. A large number of RCCI members also contribute generously to this welfare initiative, strengthening the fund and ensuring continuity of services.

Under the supervision of qualified and experienced doctors, the Free Medical Clinic provides free healthcare facilities to deserving patients, ensuring that individuals from low-income backgrounds receive essential medical care. The clinic is staffed by trained and qualified medical personnel, and it is equipped with basic diagnostic and medical equipment to ensure effective patient care. These facilities include ultrasound machines, ECG machines, blood pressure apparatus, stethoscopes, glaucoma meters, weight machines, and other essential medical instruments. On average, approximately 3,800 patients are treated every month across three major departments: Eye Care, Dentistry, and General OPD.

Since its inception, the Medical Welfare Council has consistently worked for the welfare of the community. It has provided free medical treatment and awareness to a large number of patients, particularly from underserved areas of Rawalpindi, ensuring access to essential healthcare services and promoting public health awareness.

Through this initiative, RCCI continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to community welfare, social responsibility, and accessible healthcare for all.
